Overview

Your privacy is important to us. To protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. 

Collection, use and disclosure of personal information

We may need your specific information in order to process your application/request and reply to your needs promptly. We may ask you for contact information (such as your name, email and address) and demographic information (such as your zip code).  We will use this information to communicate with you and to provide data which we collect to use in our Member Directory.  None of your personal information will be shared with the public from this site.  You will have control of the information which can be shared by members only in your member profile.

Links to Other Sites

This site may link to other sites. The Monticello Home Owners Association is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites. We will not pass your information along to the linked site; however, we cannot protect the information you provide to that site.

Protecting Personal Information

When you join as a member, you have access to our Members Only page. On that page we post a Membership Directory with names, addresses and home phone numbers for HOA members only. This site is password protected.   We do not share any personal data with third-party applications.

Utilization of Membership information (including but not limited to e-mail addresses and directory information):

1. Members are prohibited from using membership information for non-HOA purposes.

2. The directory is not to be reproduced or the information in it provided to anyone outside of the membership without the written permission of the Board of Directors.

3. Any use of membership information for non-HOA related business could result in suspension or termination of access to the Monticello HOA membership website per the discretion of the Board.

In addition, we ask members to not give out personal information from the directory without the express permission of the person involved.

Use of "Cookies"

A cookie is a small file, stored on a user’s hard drive by a website.  Its purpose is to collect data relating to the user’s browsing habits.  We do not use cookies to gather information about you.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. We do not knowingly collect or use personal data from children under 13 years of age.  If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 years of age, the personal data will be deleted as soon as possible.  If a child under 13 years of age has provided us with personal data their parent or guardian may contact us.

The use of photos of children on our website are prohibited without express permission from their parents to do so.

Email Guidelines

Monticello HOA does not send unsolicited commercial email to individuals. 

How to Correct or Update Information

As a member you can log in to your profile page and select any information you would like to keep private or share with members.  We do not allow the member information to be seen by the public.

Period for which Personal Data will be stored

We will hold on to the data provided by you and your membership application while you are an active member of the Monticello HOA.  When you choose not to renew, all of the data we have on you will be destroyed.

Your Consent

To handle email consent, we provided an opt-in mechanism checked when you sign in to your Profile. You have the right to opt out of receiving our emails by clicking the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of each communication.  You will still receive confirmation emails in response to specific actions on your part, such as membership renewal notices or event registration confirmations, but you will not receive event announcements and other email blasts.

You have a right to know what data we hold on you, please contact the Monticello HOA to send you a printed copy of any data we hold on you.  This includes membership, event and donation information.

You have a right to erasure of your personal data under the following conditions:

• The data are no longer needed for the original purpose(s) for which they were collected, and no new lawful purpose exists.
• The lawful basis for processing is consent, the data subject has withdrawn such consent, and no other lawful ground exists.
• The data subject exercises his/her right to object, and the controller has no overriding grounds for continuing the processing.
• The data have been processed unlawfully.
• Erasure is required to comply with local, state, or federal law.
